Sent to be the Sender

After Jesus shows his disciples who is and why he came into the world, he commissions them to continue on with the work he has been showing. As he had been sent from the Father, he is now sending them.

I Am the True Vine

Jesus uses a powerful illustration about having a fruitful, productive life, and the dangers of not staying connected to Him.

What does a shepherd risk for his sheep? How far would he go to rescue them? What price would he pay to ensure their safety?If you found a Good Shepherd, would you listen to him? Would you follow him?

Jesus uses mixed metaphors to get his point across. He is both the one who enters through the door of the sheep and he is the door.And then he adds another layer – who are you listening to? In a world where everyone has something to tell you, the voice of Jesus is the voice of life.
